We used the music studio at Sony CSL Paris for the event and conducted two sessions using the system. We recorded audio for both sessions and used an automated tool for transcription. This wasn’t an ideal space for the experiments (there was a lot of equipment and a pillar in the way) but was good enough for our purposes.
We set up 9 Phillip Hue lights around the room. 8 around the perimetre of the room and one in the centre of the room infront of participants that sat around a table in the centre of the room. The lights served a mixture of purposes depending on the scene. Either as ‘surround lighting’ or serving as a single light sources. This varied scene by scene. Our game master was sat in one corner of the room controlling the Funiki system while delivering exposition and rolling die.
We ran Funiki directly from Godot with audio streamed out to a single JBL speaker. In the case of this experiment we didn’t work with surround sound.
